Destination Wedding of Kayla and DonTrell at Playa del Carmen
Since the first time they called me, I knew I would be super excited to be a part of Kayla and DonTrell’s extraordinary adventure. Their destination wedding was all you would ever dream of. From the ceremony setup, the place, to the decorations… in one phrase—it was perfect. There were a bunch of emotions, joyous tears and a lot of dancing time. The best part was their wedding date – it matches the date they have met 7 years ago. So romantic!
The full theme vibe was neutral colors, with a lot of greenery and minor touches of mauve pink, grey, and ivory. Kayla and DonTrell preferred to highlight the raw beauty of the Villa la Joya, so they kept décor to a minimum to focus attention on the palm trees, ocean, and breathtaking view. We had so much fun together with the bride and groom, their family and wedding party. Let me guide you through their special day step by step. And thanks to Sweet Caribbean Photography, I have some impressive visuals to better showcase Kayla and DonTrell’s destination adventure.
Both bride and groom had ‘getting ready’ time, together with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. All the ladies got the hair and makeup by the incredible team of Sara Tamargo while wearing their matching robes, which was a pleasant surprise from the bride. As you can see, the boys also had a fantastic morning. They have rented a villa for boys ‘getting ready’ time and having a beer. Let me tell you they were enjoying their time while posing for the photos. Possibly, the most emotional moment from the getting ready part was the ‘first look’ the bride shared with her father and the groom with his mother.
Every destination wedding ceremony has something special in it, and this one had it too. The violin, played in the background, lead the bride walking down the aisle with her father and who escorted Kayla to her soon to be husband. The couple exchanged personalized vows, shared the first kiss as husband and wife and walked back down the aisle together.
The overall mood at the reception was cozy, intimate with a lot of dancing. The sound of the guitarist Mike Grabow welcomed all the guests who came to celebrate together with the newlyweds. EW Cancun made certain we have soft, gorgeously designed furniture for every guest. The head table and the guest tables were attractively decorated with centerpieces arranged by Cherry Blossom Mexico and a lot of candles. Gourmet Soberanis served the most delicious dinner, and besides the delightful cake by Pasteleria la Migaja, the couple combined and dazzled the guests with a Churro Cart by Los Pockets Mexico. One of my favorite things was the wedding party entrance which was fabulous to watch. The opened the reception party with their favorite songs. Newlyweds together with their family and friends kick-off of the night with dancing and partying to the music and visual effects of DJ Kinetic Events Mexico.
It was such a pleasure to be a part of Kayla and DonTrell’s destination wedding day. Thank you for letting Inspiration Weddings and I be a part of your love story. We wish you a thrilling marriage with a lot of new and exciting moments and adventures. Here is to you two!
With Love, Anna
